I was born in 1979 at Hassan, 185 Kms south of Bengaluru, India.  I come from a lower middle class, orthodox family. Did my graduation at Hassan and moved to Bengaluru in search of a job. I always wanted to be an actor.

I have immense respect for all art forms. Have been watching TV soaps since my primary & middle school days when Ramayana was being aired in DD. That’s when we got our first Black & White portable Televista TV. All the soaps that used to come on television at that time like Nukkad, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Mungeri Lal Ke haseen Sapne, Malgudi Days, Hum Log etc. were never missed by me. My mother herself is an artist too. She is a wonderful painter - She has done embossing, nib painting, charcoal painting, Oil painting, etc. I have grown seeing her do these and hence my interest in art came naturally. As I stepped to high school, I started watching Kannada TV Soaps like Mayamruga, Manvantara, Seethe to name a few. These made me to watch some classic performances by wonderful artistes. When I came to Bengaluru in search of Job in 2002, to my luck, one of my known contacts introduced me to Antharanga theatre team headed by Uncle Shyam. I made this my home team and went on acting in tens of stage plays and hundreds of shows. Later, in 2007 I got married to Archana Shyam, who is also an actor, director and has made a name for herself in Kannada theatre circles.

My journey with Films started with acting for the film Rasarushi Kuvempu in 2008 by Ritwik Simha which also got the first best film award by Karnataka State Govt. Later, I was offered a small role in Pawan Kumar's Lucia which went on to become a big success at the Box Office and my short duration performance was noticed by many in the film field and got recognition for me as an actor for wider audience. Later, acted in other feature films like U Turn, Cinema My Darling, Badmaash, Srinivasa Kalyana, Jeerjimbe, and so on and more opportunities are coming my way. I have also acted in many Short films that came my way.

Looking forward to act in meaningful cinemas and in characters that leave a mark in the minds of audience that makes them remember the character for a very long time.
